On the morning of March 3, 2017, Peguis and Fisher Branch RCMP, along with assistance from the Emergency Response Team, executed search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at two residences located on the Peguis First Nation.

As a result of the search, police located and seized more than one kg of cocaine, 233 grams of marijuana, seven firearms and a significant amount of cash.

Sgt. Paul Manaigre noted that the removal of such a large quantity of drugs and weapons during this seizure in Peguis First Nation will definitely have a positive impact in the community.

RCMP report that five residents of Peguis First Nation were arrested in this incident. All will face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as well as the Criminal Code of Canada.
