Swan River RCMP are currenting investigating an attempted murder that occurred on Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation. As a result, police are looking for information to locate the suspect involved.

On March 6, 2022, at approximately 12:20am, Swan River RCMP responded to a shooting at a residence located on Makaysees Drive on Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation.

Initial police investigation has determined that two occupants were inside a home when a known male showed up at the door. The suspect then entered the home, an argument ensued and resulted in the suspect shooting the male occupant. The suspect then fled the scene in a small blue vehicle. No other injuries were reported.

Police say that the 40-year-old male victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP report that 28-year-old Stacey Stevens of Swan River has been identified as the suspect and a warrant for his arrest has been obtained. Stevens is wanted for attempted murder, discharge of a firearm with intent and weapons possession contrary to order.

Stacey Stevens is considered armed and dangerous and the public is advised to not approach but call police if seen.
