Just after 12:20pm on March 19, 2017, Morden RCMP, along with the Winkler Police Service, responded to a two vehicle head-on collision on Highway 32, just south of Winkler, Manitoba.

Police say that a northbound SUV with five passengers collided head-on with a southbound car carrying four passengers. EMS from Winkler and Altona, STARS air ambulance and the Winkler Fire Department attended the scene to assist.

RCMP report that the 37-year-old female driver of the SUV and an 11-year-old boy, both from Winkler, were taken to hospital in Winnipeg and remain in critical condition. Three other female passengers, ages seven, five and one, were taken to a local hospital and are currently in stable condition. The 41-year-old male driver of the car, as well as three female passengers, ages 38, 17 and 13, all from the Winkler area, were taken to a local hospital and are in stable condition.
