Caring for people during their most vulnerable moments can be very rewarding work, but it can also be very difficult. Bethesda Foundation took a few minutes last week to thank all the healthcare workers at Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach, for the work they do every day in caring for our communities’ most vulnerable.

“It’s important for care-givers to recharge their own energy reserves from time-to-time, so that they can continue to help others recharge and heal,” said Linda Peters, Executive Director for Bethesda Foundation. “One way to recharge, is to feel appreciated. Bethesda Foundation wanted to let all the healthcare workers know how much we appreciate them, and how awesome they are.”

Bethesda Foundation served 300 warm meals over lunch last week, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre. Meals were served to staff in individually packaged containers, to mitigate risk of any infection spread and ensure safety for all.

“It’s a small gesture of appreciation,” added Peters. “This thank you goes to all healthcare workers – nurses, cleaning staff, kitchen staff, doctors, admin, laundry dept staff, maintenance staff, and many, many more. There are just too many to mention them all. We appreciate each and every one of them.”
