Steinbach RCMP are reporting that two 18-year-old male drivers, one from Steinbach, the other from Vassar, are facing charges in connection to racing their vehicles. The incidents occurred this past weekend according to police.

RCMP report that as a result of the incidents, both drivers were charged with racing a motor vehicle and received a serious offence notice which mandates a license review with MPI. Officers noted that both drivers were fined $672 and the vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days.

Police noted that the driver from Vassar had been charged an hour previously for making unnecessary noise and was warned regarding street racing. RCMP say that he had also been charged for a traffic offence a couple of days prior to this incident.

Steinbach RCMP said that in addition to these offences, there were 19 other traffic offence charges handed out over the weekend.
