Pembina Valley RCMP are reporting that three arrests have been made in connection to a recent aggravated assault incident that occurred at a gravel pit located in the Rural Municipality of Roland, Manitoba.

On May 29, 2022, at approximately 9:50pm, Pembina Valley RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a gravel pit RM of Roland.

Police say that an 18-year-old Winkler man had been stabbed several times and was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He was later transported to Winnipeg for further treatment.

Initial police investigation has determined that the victim was at a gravel pit with friends, when an altercation occurred with another group of people. The incident resulted in the stabbing of the victim.

RCMP report that three suspects were identified and arrested later that same night. Arrested were two 17-year-old males from Winkler, who are facing charges of assault with a weapon, as well, an 18-year-old male from Reinfeld is facing a charge of aggravated assault.

The accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court at a future date in Morden.
