Following a two-year hiatus, the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce Board and staff are preparing for Steinbach’s 54th annual Pioneer Days parade to be held on Friday, July 29, 2022, starting at 10am.

Steinbach is known far-and-wide for its annual Pioneer Days parade that kicks off the Pioneer Days weekend of festivities in Steinbach, celebrating the community’s roots and rich heritage. With an average of 100 unique entries per year, and the always-popular candy and other free giveaways, thousands of people are expected to attend the parade, similar to previous years.

“After a two year break, we anticipate a great turnout for this year’s parade,” said Michelle Bezditny, Executive Director for the Steinbach Chamber. “The Pioneer Days Parade is an event that brings so much excitement to the community, and we have an exceptional variety of community business partners who make it possible.”

Spectators are encouraged to ‘Bring a Tin for the Bin’ as South East Helping Hands will again be collecting non-perishable food items as part of the parade. In the interest of public safety, the Steinbach Chamber together with Steinbach RCMP, Steinbach Fire Department and the City of Steinbach reminds all spectators that failure to stay behind the marked barricade tape could result in serious injury. Parents/guardians are urged to ensure their children do not run into the street to grab
candy/prizes.

The Pioneer Days Parade is one of many annual events put on by the Steinbach Chamber that works to unite and represent Steinbach’s diverse business community in the belief that the resulting economic growth and stability provides an enhanced quality of life for the entire community.

Starting at the Fire Hall at 10am, the parade will proceed west down Main Street, then north on Highway 12, ending at Stone Bridge Crossing. Some street closures will take place from 8am till about noon to accommodate the parade traffic.
