Dauphin RCMP are reporting that a number of firearms were recently seized after chasing down a male suspect who attempted to flee police on his bicycle.

RCMP officers were recently conducting a patrol on 1st Street South when they observed three known subjects on bicycles who appeared to be in the process of conducting a drug trafficking transaction.

Officers attempted to approach the three suspects who subsequently fled the scene on their bikes. A short foot pursuit ensued and the officers apprehended a 21-year-old male suspect.

Police say that a search of a backpack, in the possession of the suspect, resulted in the seizure of a sawed-off shotgun, a handgun, bear spray and break-in instruments.

RCMP report that Collin Pruden, from Saskatoon, was remanded into custody on multiple charges related to this incident. Two other male suspects, a 24-year-old and 30-year old, both from Dauphin, are being sought out by police and will face charges once apprehended.
