Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 45-year-old Winnipeg man has died as the result of a recent motorcycle collision that occurred approximately five kilometres northeast of Steinbach.

On September 24, 2022, at approximately 1pm, officers from the Steinbach RCMP detachment responded to a report of a collision involving six motorcycles near Steinbach.

Officers attended the scene and determined that the six motorcycles were traveling west on Provincial Road 311, near Road 36E, when they drove into mud debris lying on the highway. The lead motorcycle subsequently lost control and the driver was thrown from his bike. The 45-year-old male victim, from Winnipeg, was then struck by an eastbound pickup truck and pronounced deceased on scene.

RCMP report that the other motorcycle drivers had also lost control on the mud, but were able to successfully put down their bikes with no other physical injuries being reported.

Steinbach RCMP along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate this incident.
