Sprague RCMP are reporting that a 52-year-old Winnipeg man has recently died as the result of a snowmobile collision that occurred on a groomed trail near Woodridge, Manitoba.

On February 10, 2023, at approximately 5pm, Sprague RCMP received a report of a snowmobile collision near Woodridge. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 52-year-old Winnipeg man receiving emergency medical care.

Police say that the snowmobiler was later pronounced deceased on scene.

Initial investigation indicates the Winnipeg man was riding in a group of three and was bringing up the rear, when he hit two bumps in the trail very close together. Subsequently, the man lost control of the snowmobile and was thrown off.

RCMP report that speed is being considered as a factor in this collision.
