At 5:20 am on April 13, 2017, Russel RCMP responded to a report involving a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle new Russel, Manitoba.

Police investigation determined that a 47-year-old woman was driving her car west on Highway 45, approximately 1.5 km east of Russel, MB, when she struck a male pedestrian. The pedestrian was walking in the same westbound lane on Highway 45.

RCMP report that the 33-year-old male pedestrian from Regina, Saskatchewan, was transported to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle will not facing any criminal charges.
