Thompson RCMP are asking the public for any information into the whereabouts of a missing woman from the area, 42-year-old Catherine Dumas.

On May 3, 2023, at approximately 5:50pm, Thompson RCMP received a report stating that Catherine Dumas was missing. Catherine was last seen on April 27, 2023, at approximately 6am, in the Muskrat area of Split Lake.

Catherine Dumas is described as 5’7″ tall, weighs 175 lbs, has black hair and brown eyes. She is known to frequent Thompson and Split Lake.

RCMP report that searches are being conducted by the Split Lake Fire Department and community volunteers, in the Split Lake area.

It is believed that Catherine Dumas is disoriented and family and police are concerned for her well-being. Update

RCMP report that searchers located the body of Catherine Dumas in a wooded area of Muskrat Bay in Split Lake. The cause of death has yet to be determined and an autopsy will be conducted.
