Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a male suspect has recently been arrested and charged in connection to a disturbance that occurred at a residence located on Elm Avenue in Steinbach.
On May 18, 2023 at approximately 1:11am, Steinbach RCMP received multiple complaints about windows being broken at a local residence. It was also reported of yelling occurring outside the home.
Police immediately attended the scene and subsequently were directed to a back alley where a male suspect was seen running. Officers were eventually able to locate and arrest the individual.
Investigation determined that the suspect had assaulted a male with a weapon and broke several windows of a residence located on Elm Avenue. Police noted that the suspect also broke the back window of a vehicle parked in the same area.
RCMP report that Kevin Dennis Jacob Friesen has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats against a person, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, mischief over $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order. Friesen has been remanded in custody to appear in Provincial Court in Winnipeg.
