Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 26-year-old woman has recently died as the result of a vehicle collision that occurred at a location on Highway 52, near Municipal Road 38E in the Rural Municipality of La Broquerie.
On May 23, 2023, at approximately 7:35am, Steinbach RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision in the RM of La Broquerie. Police investigation determined that a vehicle, being driven by a 26-year-old Steinbach woman, was traveling east on Highway 52 when she attempted to avoid debris on the highway. Subsequently, the woman lost control of her vehicle and collided with a westbound pickup truck with four occupants.
RCMP report that the 26-year-old female driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 28-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other three occupants of the pickup were not injured in the collision.
Steinbach RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate this incident.
