The City of Steinbach has announced that the Summer in the City festival’s Main Stage performances will run for three days.

Friday and Saturday’s Main Stage schedule of local talent and headliner artists will continue as previous years with a new addition of Sunday following the same format. Worship in the City is expanding and will be taking place at the Main Stage compound starting with a community church service at 10am, local Christian artists performing all afternoon, with a headliner artist wrapping up Worship and Summer in the City.

“When Worship in the City was founded, there always was a vision to see this turn into something bigger than what it was, including it becoming a full day event,” says Worship in the City committee chair Art Enns. “When Ben Nickel connected with me and communicated his passion to expand this day of worship, it was a natural fit to move forward and extend SITC to a full three day festival with Sunday morning being a time of Worship and a Christian concert in the afternoon.”

“Planning has had some challenges, but has already been a blessing to see the support they have received from the whole community,” said Ben Nickel. “Seeing a variety of churches come together has been exciting for the Worship in the City committee and they are looking forward to being able to announce the morning speaker and afternoon headliner in the upcoming weeks.”  According to Art Enns, Sunday’s free headliner concert will bring a flavour of down to earth great entertainment for the whole family, with a positive message of hope.
