RCMP are reporting that a 25-year-old male, from the Rural Municipality of Emerson-Franklin, has recently died as the result of being struck by a vehicle at a location on Provincial Road 200, near Road 7N in the RM of Emerson Franklin.

Police say that on June 18, 2023, at 3:05am, officers from Morris/Emerson RCMP responded to a report of a male that had been struck by a vehicle. Officers, along with EMS, arrived at the scene and located a 25-year-old male from the RM of Emerson-Franklin. The man was subsequently pronounced deceased.

Officers spoke with the two male occupants of the vehicle and learned that the vehicle, initially being driven by the now deceased, had hit the ditch and became stuck. The man had then exited the vehicle and attempted to push the vehicle out when it suddenly reversed and struck him. The two occupants immediately called 911, loaded up the victim, and drove to the nearest intersection where they awaited the arrival of RCMP and EMS.

RCMP report that the two occupants of the vehicle were not physically injured as a result of this incident, and that the investigation is ongoing.
