Portage la Prairie RCMP recently arrested a male suspect who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. The arrest resulted from a recent residential search in the community.
On October 13, 2023, RCMP attended a residence on 10th Street NW in Portage la Prairie, to search for a wanted male suspect. Upon arrival, the suspect attempted to evade police by climbing out a window, but was subsequently arrested.
Police say that the man had a warrant of arrest out of Winnipeg for being unlawfully at large and was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching his statutory release.
A search of the suspect resulted in the seizure of 20 grams of methamphetamine, 65 grams of fentanyl, a large sum of cash and other drug paraphernalia. Officers also seized several air guns and ammunition from the room where the male was located.
RCMP report that 25-year-old Mateo Roulette is facing multiple drug and firearms related charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and identity fraud.
