Stonewall RCMP are reporting that a quantity of drugs and stolen property were recently seized from a vehicle as the result of a traffic stop in the Rural Municipality of Rockford.

On November 8, 2023, at approximately 1am, Stonewall RCMP were on patrol and noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at a location just off Highway 7 and 67.

Police say that the attending officer noticed two occupants in the vehicle who both appeared to be sleeping. The officer then knocked on the window to get the attention of the driver. Once the driver opened the vehicle door, the officer observed drug paraphernalia and subsequently placed both occupants under arrest.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine, ammunition and an assortment of tools that had been stolen in a recent theft.

RCMP report that 45-year-old Jaida Nash, from the RM of Bifrost, along with 44-year-old Jeremy Peebles, from Winnipeg, are both facing numerous charges in connection to this incident. Both individuals were released from custody on release orders.
