Portage la Prairie RCMP are currently investigating a recent robbery in the community and are asking for public assistance in identifying the suspects involved.

On February 21, 2024, at approximately 5:10am, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a report of a panic alarm at a business located in the 700 block of Saskatchewan Avenue, in Portage la Prairie.

While officers were responding, an update had been received that a robbery had just occurred. Officers attended the scene and learned that two male suspects had entered the establishment, stealing cash and cigarettes in the process. Members noted that one suspect was armed with a handgun and the other with a knife.

Police say that the suspects fled westbound from the business and are believed to have entered an awaiting vehicle. Officers noted that a short time prior to the robbery, an unidentified female is seen entering the store. The female then briefly walked around the store before leaving.

Surveillance cameras captured footage of these two suspects entering the store.
