Local RCMP are reporting that numerous tickets were issued to a couple of Steinbach males that were riding their off-road vehicles (ORV) in the community.

On May 20, 2024, at approximately 4pm, Steinbach Traffic Services conducted a proactive stop of two males riding ORVs on McKenzie Avenue.

As a result of the stop, six tickets were issued under the Off Road Vehicles Act, including operating an unregistered vehicle, operating an ORV over a roadway or shoulder, driving an ORV without a valid license under the Highway Traffic Act, and operating an ORV with a plate that does not match the registration.

RCMP report that the tickets issued totaled and amount of $985.

Steinbach RCMP would like to remind all ORV owners that their vehicles need to be registered and insured to be operated. Riders need to be aware of the requirements for operating an ORV in Manitoba and within their local community.
