After a hard-fought leadership campaign that saw membership in the Conservative Party of Canada swell to over 250,000, Andrew Scheer emerged as the new leader of the party this past weekend.
“I would like to congratulate the new leader of the Conservative Party and the next Prime Minister of Canada, Andrew Scheer,” said MP Ted Falk. “This marks the beginning of an exciting new era for the Conservative party. We come out of this leadership campaign united and ready to defeat Justin Trudeau and the Liberals in 2019.”
Falk notes that he was proud to be an early supporter of Andrew when he first announced his leadership bid last September and that he has earned the respect and admiration of our caucus, supporters, and Canadians from across the country.
Ted Falk says that he is looking forward to working with the new leader, continuing to hold the Liberal Government accountable.
