A 40-year-old woman is dead after being found unresponsive in a house fire at a Flin Flon residence this past weekend.

On June 10, 2017, at approximately 1:30am, Flin Flon RCMP responded to a residential structure fire located on 5th Avenue in Flin Flon, Manitoba.

Police say that the homeowner, a 44-year-old man, was able to escape the fire by jumping out of a window. He remains in hospital in critical condition. Also in the house at the time of the fire was a 41-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman. The man was extracted by firefighters and suffered minor injuries.The woman was found unresponsive in a bedroom. She was extracted by firefighters and transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

RCMP report that the cause of the fire is not suspicious in nature. The investigation continues with the assistance of the Office of the Fire Commissioner.
