Manitoba RCMP Roving Traffic Unit are reporting that a large quantity of cash was recently seized resulting from a traffic stop that occurred on Highway 16 near Neepawa.

On April 29, 2025, at approximately 2pm, Manitoba RCMP Roving Traffic Unit conducted a traffic stop on Highway 16, west of Neepawa in the Rural Municipality of Minto-Odanah.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old male from Stony Plain, Alberta, was the lone occupant and was stopped as a result of a violation of the Highway Traffic Act.

As a result of the investigation and search of the vehicle, a large amount of Canadian currency was located and the vehicle was seized.

RCMP report that the driver was arrested and later released pending a future court date.

Manitoba RCMP Traffic Unit continue to investigate this incident.
