Pembina Valley RCMP are reporting that a 64-year-old man from the Rural Municipality of Stanley has recently died as the result of a two-vehicle collision near Winkler, Manitoba.

On May 26, 2025, at approximately 6:15am, Carman and Manitou RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of Road 5 North and Road 25 West in the RM of Stanley. When officers arrived, the local Fire department and EMS were already on scene.

Police say that two SUVs were in the south ditch, the lone driver of one of the vehicles, a 41-year-old Morden man, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other SUV, a 64-year-old male from the RM of Stanley, was pronounced deceased on scene.

Initial investigation determined that the 64-year-old driver had been traveling east on Road 5 North when he collided with the other SUV which was traveling south on Road 25 West. Officers noted that there was no stop sign in either direction.

Pembina Valley RCMP, along with RCMP Traffic Analyst and Criminal Collision Investigation Team continue to investigate this incident.
