Oakbank RCMP are reporting that a 31-year-old Winnipeg man has died as the result of a recent vehicle collision that occurred in the Rural Municipality of East St. Paul, Manitoba.
On May 31, 2025, at approximately 5pm, Selkirk and Oakbank RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 59 at Birds Hill Road in the RM of East St. Paul.
Police say that a vehicle was observed driving erratically on Highway 59. The vehicle then lost control in the turn at an intersection, jumped the median and collided with the light standard. Officers noted that both occupants were extracted from the vehicle.
RCMP report that the driver, a 31-year-old male from Winnipeg, was transported by STARS to hospital in critical condition but stable. The passenger, a 39-year-old male from Winnipeg, died at the scene.
