The Manitoba government is providing funding to nine local businesses through the Innovation Growth Program (IGP) to support product innovation and economic growth.
“Manitobans deserve a government that supports their creativity, resourcefulness and ideas,” said Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation Minister Jamie Moses. “We want to invest in the success of Manitoba companies. That’s why we’re excited to support nine local businesses through the Innovation Growth Program.”
Over the next five years, the companies are forecasting the addition of over 100 new full-time jobs to Manitoba’s economy and $36.1 million in export sales, contributing to the government’s commitment to grow the economy with good Manitoba jobs for Manitobans, the minister noted.
The IGP provides cost-shared grants of up to $100,000 to eligible Manitoba small- and medium-sized enterprises to assist with the commercialization of innovative products or processes and accelerate growth.
“Support through the Innovation Growth Program has helped our business to commercialize a new chemical management system,” said Shane Knutson, president, Polywest. “This will allow us to keep growing our company and expand our workforce in Winnipeg.”
Deadline for the next intake of the Innovation Growth Program is June 30.
