Pembina Valley RCMP are reporting that two cyclists were recently injured after being struck by a westbound vehicle on Highway 3, near Morden, Manitoba.

On August 14, 2025, at 11:30pm, Pembina Valley RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 3, near road 31 West. Officers responded immediately to the scene and discovered a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the westbound lane with two bicycles in front of it. Fire and Emergency Medical Services were attending to the two cyclists at the time.

Investigation determined that the two cyclists were traveling west on Highway 3, when they were struck from behind by the westbound vehicle.

Police say that the cyclists, a 78-year-old male and a 28-year-old female, both from the RM of Stanley, were transported to hospital. Officers noted that the male had minor injuries and was released from hospital shortly after. The female had serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

RCMP report that the driver, a 35-year-old male, also from the RM of Stanley, has been charged for careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act and was served with a serious offence notice.
