Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a male suspect has recently been arrested and charged after causing a disturbance at a school in the Hanover School Division.
On September 10, 2025, at 11:45am, a local school requested the immediate assistance of police. It was reported that the school was in lockdown as a parent was causing a disturbance by shouting, uttering threats and throwing punches towards staff members.
Steinbach RCMP immediately responded to the school and arrested an adult male who was still roaming the school. Officers noted that following the arrest, the 43-year-old male suspect threatened to harm and fight officers.
RCMP report that the male suspect has been charged with assault and four counts of uttering threats. The male was remanded into custody on September 11, 2025, and released the next day with court-imposed conditions.
Members noted that as a parent was involved in the incident, RCMP will not be releasing the name of the suspect nor of the school.
