Thompson RCMP are reporting that two handguns in a pelican case were recently located at the community dog park by a local resident. Officers are investigating the incident.
On November 9, 2025, at approximately 5pm, a resident of Thompson entered the detachment to report that he had located a large pelican case while walking at the Thompson dog park.
Officers responded and examined the case further, subsequently locating two 9mm handguns, a magazine and various types of ammunition, including 9mm.
Police say that the items were seized and the handguns will undergo further testing.
RCMP continue to investigate this incident.
