Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 41-year-old man from the Rural Municipality (RM) of La Broquerie has recently died as the result of a single-person snowmobile collision that occurred in the area.
On December 26, 2025, at 11:50am, Steinbach RCMP received a report of a snowmobile collision that occurred near a residence located on Carriere Drive W, in the RM of La Broquerie.
Officers responded to the scene and located a 41-year-old male from the RM of La Broquerie. Members provided medical attention to the injured male until EMS arrived.
Police say that the victim was subsequently transported to hospital via STARS Air Ambulance where he succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators believe that the victim was operating his snowmobile on private property when he lost control of his machine and crossed over the roadway, colliding with the embankment on the opposite side as a result.
RCMP report that the victim, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, was ejected from his snowmobile where he sustained life-threatening injuries.
