Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation Minister Jamie Moses is in Mexico this week with Indigenous leaders and Manitoba businesses, as part of the Manitoba delegation on federal Internal Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc’s trade mission to Mexico. The trade mission will be focusing on agriculture and food, advanced manufacturing, clean technology, information and communication technology, and creative industries.

“Manitobans want to see our province and our country find new markets and strengthen our ties to other nations,” said Moses. “While tariffs continue to make life more expensive for families and businesses, we are taking a Team Canada approach to make life more affordable for families and reduce our reliance on the U.S.”

While in Mexico, the Manitoba delegation will participate in more than 100 business‑to‑business meetings with Mexican companies and investors. Moses will take part in events hosted by Mexican business councils, trade organizations, diplomats and government officials. The Manitoba delegation will also meet with Cameron MacKay, Canada’s ambassador to Mexico.

Manitoba’s delegation includes Grand Chief Kyra Wilson from the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, Grand Chief Jerry Daniels from the Southern Chiefs Organization and representatives from the following organizations:

  • Agri Tel Grain Ltd.
  • Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada
  • Canola Council of Canada
  • Logixgrid Technologies (Canada) Inc.
  • Manitoba Hydro International
  • NQube
  • Phason Controls
  • Pulse Canada
  • Vidir Solutions
  • Wild West Seasonings
  • World Trade Centre Winnipeg

The delegation will spend several days in Mexico City before travelling to Guadalajara and Monterrey to strengthen Manitoba’s relationships in key sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, aerospace, life sciences and technology.
