The Steinbach Community Safety and Well-being (CSWB) Plan, prepared by the Canadian Centre for Safer Communities, has been finalized and is now available for the public to view on the City of Steinbach website.
The Steinbach CSWB Plan is a strategic framework designed to help guide and inform local decisions and actions to enhance safety and well-being, informed by a comprehensive data collection process. The process included a review of existing data, a CSWB survey with community members, and community engagement with various groups, including service providers and people facing higher levels of marginalization/vulnerability.
“The Community Safety and Well-Being Plan reflects our shared belief that community safety is about more than laws and services alone,” said Mayor Funk, “It is about people – looking out for our neighbours, providing support to those who are struggling, and creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and purpose. At the same time, it affirms the importance of personal responsibility, accountability, and respect for the law.”
A digital copy of the plan is available online at steinbach.ca and physical copies are available at Steinbach City Hall.
“I am grateful to everyone who contributed their time, experience, and insight to the development of this plan,” said Mayor Funk, “Your commitment reflects the heart of Steinbach – a community that cares deeply for its people and works together for the common good.”
