On July 25, 2017, just after 10:30pm, Oakbank RCMP responded to a collision between an ATV and a pickup truck pulling a trailer containing active bee hives.

Police say that the collision occurred on Garven Road in the RM Springfield, Manitoba. When officers arrived on scene, the pickup truck was in the south ditch. An ATV was heavily damaged and still on the roadway.

Early investigation has revealed that the pickup truck was traveling west on Garven Road when the ATV came out of the south ditch and crossed the road, colliding with the pickup truck. The 32-year-old male driver of the ATV was deceased on scene. The 27-year-old male driver of the pickup truck received minor injuries. Both drivers were from the RM Springfield.

RCMP report that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this collision. An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
