Lac du Bonnet RCMP are reporting that two local men have recently died as the result of a vehicle collision that occurred south of town.
On March 31, 2026, at 7:06am, Lac du Bonnet RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at a location on Highway 11, south of Lac du Bonnet, near Road 84 North.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that a pickup truck was traveling on the highway when a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction lost control in front of him. The pickup truck subsequently collided with the vehicle.
RCMP report that the driver of the pickup truck, a 71-year-old male from Beausejour, was not injured. His passenger, a 69-year-old female, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the other vehicle, ages 71 and 66 and both from Lac du Bonnet, have died as a result of the collision.
Police say that poor road conditions and heavy snowfall are believed to be a factor in the collision.
