The 2026 Pick up and Walk community clean-up event is set to take place on Saturday, May 2nd in Steinbach. A rain date of May 9th has been set aside just in case of possible bad weather.
The event is a collaborative effort between Steinbach churches and the city. Since 2004, Steinbach churches have been organizing hundreds of volunteers every spring to help beautify the city by picking up garbage along the streets and in the ditches and parks. Pick Up and Walk has become a great tradition in our city. It is recognized by many other communities as a progressive way to build pride in our city through personal action.
Participants are asked to meet at T.G. Smith Arena at 9am. From there, volunteers will be dispatched in groups and supplied with maps, routes, and garbage bags. People are encouraged to wear rubber boots, gloves and to dress for the weather. A thank you lunch will be provided free of charge for all the volunteers.
City officials ask that anyone wanting to participate can phone 431-815-9223, sign up at a local church, or just show up at the T.G. Smith Arena on May 2nd.
The City appreciates all of the event organizers and recognizes the support of participating churches who truly are the backbone of this wonderful event.
