The City of Steinbach is warning local residents of a current scam that involves receiving a phone call from individuals offering water testing services and requesting access to residential properties.
Officials note that these calls are not affiliated with the City of Steinbach. The City does not call residents to request general water testing, aside from asking for participation in the Lead at the Tap sampling program, nor does it authorize third-party companies to do so on the City’s behalf.
Residents are encouraged to be cautious and not share personal information.
