Nominations are now being accepted for the 2027 Manitoba Healthy Aging Awards, which recognize Manitobans who make a difference in the lives of older adults.
“Older Manitobans make our communities stronger every day and these awards are about recognizing the people who give their time, energy and leadership to help others age well,” said Health, Seniors and Long-Term Care Minister Uzoma Asagwara. “Whether they are supporting mental wellness, bringing generations together, helping seniors stay active or advocating for better care, we want to celebrate the people making a real difference in communities across Manitoba.”
The awards recognize Manitobans aged 65 and older who are making a difference in their communities and will be presented in four categories:
- Older Adult of the Year Award – recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in advocating for health-care services;
- Healthy and Active Living Ambassador Award – celebrates those who contribute to helping older adults stay physically active in their communities;
- Intergenerational Impact Award – recognizes voluntary contributions by individuals or volunteer-led organizations, that create innovative solutions to improve the health of older adults through meaningful intergenerational activities and connections; and
- Mental Wellness Champion Award – recognizes leaders who promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma and contribute to the mental wellness of their communities.
Nominations are now open and will close on April 30, 2027. Award recipients will be honoured at a ceremony at the Manitoba Legislative Building in 2027.
