An 81-year-old Selkirk man is dead after colliding with another vehicle on Highway 67 in the RM of St. Andrews, Manitoba.

On August 10, 2017, at approximately 5:50pm, Selkirk RCMP officers came across a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 67 and McPhillips Road (Provincial Road 230) in the RM of St. Andrews, Manitoba.

Police investigators believe that a westbound vehicle, driven by an 81-year-old Selkirk man, failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 67 and struck a northbound vehicle, being driven by a 49-year-old East-Selkirk man. The 81-year-old driver was pronounced deceased at the scene and his 50-year-old female passenger, along with the other driver, were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP report that both drivers and passenger were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

Officers from the Selkirk RCMP Detachment along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist continue to investigate.
