On Tuesday, September 05, 2017, Steinbach’s Canada 150 mural arrived at its permanent home at the Jake Epp Library.

Last November, more than 600 residents painted individual tiles to create Steinbach’s community mosaic mural, commemorating Canada’s 150th birthday. Since its creation, the mural has been on display at the Community Plaza, City Hall and Mennonite Heritage Village.

The mural will now reside permanently at the Jake Epp Library on the northeast exterior wall, close to the front entrance. This location provides some shelter from outdoor elements and allows the public to view it anytime.

The mural’s arrival in Steinbach included a community celebration that was kicked off by a few words from Daryl Braun, Library Board Member, Mayor Chris Goertzen and Carolyn Graham, Head Librarian. The celebration included popcorn, cake, face painting and balloons.
