On October 4, 2017, Lac du Bonnet RCMP arrested 20-year-old Jordan Belyk in connection to the death of a 19-year-old female from Pointe du Bois, Manitoba. Belyk, of no fixed address, has been charged with manslaughter and remains in custody.
Police say that the female victim had called 911 shortly after 6:30am on October 3, 2017, and was in need of emergency assistance. Officers responded immediately and discovered that the victim was suffering from life-threatening injuries. She was then transported to local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
RCMP report that responding officers arrested Jordan Belyk in the area shortly after.
Police continue to investigate and note that public safety is not a concern in relation to this incident.
