On November 24, 2017, at approximately 9:05am, Headingley RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle rollover on the Trans-Canada Highway, approximately one kilometre west of Provincial Road 424 in the RM of Cartier, Manitoba.

Initial police investigation has determined that a SUV was heading east when it caught the north shoulder and rolled into the north ditch on the west side of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Police say that the male driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased on scene. There were no passengers in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

RCMP report that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and it is not clear at this time if alcohol contributed to the cause of the collision.

The highway was closed for several hours while RCMP investigated and the scene was cleared. An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
