Carman RCMP are asking the public for any information connected to a series of break-ins that occurred in Elm Creek, Portage la Prairie and Carman, Manitoba.

On November 24, 2017, at approximately 3:45am, officers from the Carman RCMP Detachment were alerted to an alarm at the gas bar in Elm Creek. Officers arrived and discovered the back door had been forced open and numerous items stolen, including a large sum of cigarettes. Police say that this incident followed a very similar break-in which occurred approximately 45 minutes earlier at the gas bar located in Portage la Prairie. In this incident, suspects attempted to steal cigarettes.

On December 3, 2017, Carman RCMP responded to another break-in at the gas bar in Carman. In this robbery, two suspects gained entry through the front door and stole numerous lottery tickets.

RCMP believe that all these break and enters are connected. Security cameras installed in the Elm Creek store captured two suspects gaining entry into the business. The suspects are then seen exiting the store and getting into a silver colored SUV which had earlier been reported stolen out of Winnipeg.

One suspect is described as a male, heavier set, and was wearing a black jacket, lighter coloured pants, gloves, and a dark coloured balaclava. The second suspect appears to be thin, and was wearing blue jeans and a grey sweatshirt. The suspects used a pink coloured Rubbermaid container to load up items stolen from the store.
