The City of Steinbach has announced that a brand new 44 foot galvanized steel bridge has been installed at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach, Manitoba.

The new bridge replaced the original wooden bridge and spans the duck pond, providing a pathway between the park and Steinbach Aquatic Centre. The original wood bridge was installed in 1980 and has provided a picturesque back drop for many special events and wedding photos over its 37 years in existence.

The City notes that deterioration of the bridge’s wooden structure led to its replacement. Wooden planks will soon be added to the main frame of the new bridge, making it complete for use.
