On February 1, 2018, at approximately 4:15am, Headingley RCMP received a call from a homeowner in La Salle, Manitoba regarding an encounter he had just had in his garage.

Police say that when the homeowner heard noises in the garage and went to check, he found a male attempting to steal a snowmobile. The suspect ran out of the garage and jumped into a white pickup truck. There were four males in the truck.

Later that morning, RCMP received two more calls from the same community regarding theft. The first call was a homeowner who had noticed his sled trailer lock had been tampered with as well as the garage door. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

The third call was from a homeowner reporting his garage door damaged overnight and two snowmobiles missing.

RCMP remind everyone to lock their garage doors and ensure sleds are secured on a locked trailer or inside a locked garage.
