On April 21, 2018, at approximately 4:20pm, St. Pierre-Jolys RCMP received report of a single-vehicle off-road collision just east of Kleefeld, Manitoba, in the RM of Hanover. The collision occurred in a field off of Provincial Road 27 East, just south of Provincial Road 33 North.

When officers arrived at the scene, paramedics were already there providing care.

Police say that two females had been involved in the rollover of a side-by-side ATV. The 21-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital where she remains in critical condition. The 20-year-old passenger was not injured in the collision. Both are from the area where the collision occurred.

RCMP report that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, though the passenger was belted in at the time of the collision. It was also noted that neither of the occupants was wearing a helmet and that the vehicle was equipped with a roll cage.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
