Due to an overwhelming response from interested drivers in the area, TappCar announced today that it has purchased a business licence and will launch rideshare services in Steinbach.

TappCar recently announced it was seeking to expand to Steinbach and put out a call to interested drivers in the area, asking them to begin the application process through the TappCar website. The company said the volume of interested customers and drivers who have made contact since then has exceeded expectations, and that based on the numbers, launching makes perfect sense.

While the exact date for launch has yet to be finalized, TappCar says it’s aiming to hit the road in Steinbach by Canada Day.

“There is obviously a huge appetite for rideshare in Steinbach and TappCar is going to answer the call,” TappCar Spokesperson John Morris said. “Steinbach is growing at a rapid pace and that growth has created a large demand for better transportation options. We see this as a tremendous opportunity for both TappCar and Steinbach.”

TappCar thanked the province, Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman, YES! Winnipeg and municipal officials in Steinbach for creating regulatory conditions for rideshare to succeed.

“We look forward to replicating the success we’ve seen in Winnipeg and thank all those who have worked to create the regulatory conditions necessary for rideshare companies like ours to succeed,” Morris said.
