Two males are facing numerous firearms related charges after recently being arrested by Swan River RCMP.

On September 19, 2016, at approximately 9am, the RCMP Emergency Response Team, RCMP Major Crime Unit and Swan River RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in Swan River, Manitoba. The search warrant was in relation to an incident that occurred in the RM of Swan Valley West on September 18, 2016.

As a result of the search, police were able to seize a firearm, ammunition and numerous knives.

RCMP report that 51-year-old Marvin David Flett of Swan River was arrested, as well as an 18-year-old male. Flett was remanded into custody and charged with numerous offences including unauthorized possession of a firearm. The second male was released without charges.

Police also noted that Heyes School was locked down for approximately 45 minutes while the search warrant was being executed. Police did this for precautionary measures and did not feel the school was in danger.
