Three male suspects were recently arrested after Steinbach RCMP responded to a report alleging that three adult males were in possession of hand guns at a location in Mitchell, Manitoba.
During the afternoon of September 15, 2018, Steinbach RCMP were dispatched to a location in Mitchell were three adult males were reportedly outside a local residence in possession of hand guns. Members from the Steinbach Detachment and Steinbach Traffic Services quickly responded to the call and located two male suspects outside of the residence with black handguns and one male suspect inside a vehicle.
RCMP report that each of the male suspects was safely arrested and upon investigation it was determined that the handguns were BB guns. As a result, the suspects were released and warned in regards to firearms safety.
Steinbach RCMP remind the public to always be mindful when using BB guns as they can be perceived as real firearms to the public and police if used in an improper manner such as being concealed, or being used for intimidation or impersonation of a real firearm.
