A 47-year-old Winnipeg man had died after coming into contact with a live hydro wire following a vehicle collision on Roblin Boulevard in the RM of Cartier.

On March 24, 2019, at approximately 8:40pm, Headingley RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Roblin Boulevard, adjacent to Beaudry Park, in the RM of Cartier.

Police investigation determined that the vehicle was traveling west on Roblin Boulevard when it left the road and collided with a hydro pole, knocking down live hydro wires. The driver and lone occupant, a 47-year-old Winnipeg man, exited his vehicle and came into contact with a live wire. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

RCMP report that speed, alcohol or drugs do not appear to have been factors in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
