Oakbank RCMP recently responded to a vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and an SUV at a location on Provincial Road 206 in the RM of Springfield, Manitoba.

On May 8, 2019, at approximately 10:55am, Oakbank RCMP received a report of a two vehicle collision on Provincial Road 206 at the intersection of Provincial Road 213, in the RM of Springfield, Manitoba.

Initial police investigation has determined that a black 2016 Dodge Ram was traveling west on Provincial Road 213 when it collided with a red 2011 Ford Escape that was traveling south on Provincial Road 206. The impact resulted in the Ford Escape rolling off the road, trapping its occupant inside the vehicle. Due to the condition of the vehicle, the RM of Springfield Fire Department had to use specialized equipment to safely extract the sole occupant.

RCMP report that the occupant of the Ford Escape, a 44-year-old RM of Springfield man, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The occupants of the Dodge Ram, a 22-year-old and a 18-year-old male, both from the RM of Springfield, suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and speed is being considered as a factor in this incident.
